The real reason why everyone hasn’t become a genius is simply because of certain areas of the brain that isn’t fully developed before age 25 or the loss of brain neurons that everyone had no choice but to go through after we passed the age of 25.
To date, neuroscientists are confirming that the brain doesn’t fully mature until age 25. This can often be seen from teens who make poor decisions and lack the inability to perceive whether a situation is safe. The factor that causes this is due to their prefrontal cortex that is not yet fully developed when this is the brain region that is responsible for executive functions such as, planning, decision-making and short-term memory.
When we think we could finally enjoy a fully developed brain after 25, we face another challenge and that’s the loss of our brain neurons as we age. According to studies, people beyond 25 would begin to lose as many as 50,000 neurons per day.
From all the information above, this means that the brain is not 100% used for a long time. Fortunately, there is now a way that keeps our brain at its peak all the time.
To understand how our brain can develop to become smarter, we first have to understand that neural connections are what enable us to move, think, communicate and do basically everything. In order to be able to remember or learn something, our neurons have to make connections between one another. The stronger the connections grow, the faster we are able to build stronger memory and shorter learning curves.
According to Dr. Carl’s new research, thyme was found to be able to trigger the formation of human brain cells and strengthen their connections. This is possible thanks to one of its powerful components known as apigenin. Thymol, another important chemical component of thyme, is also able to increase the omega-3 fatty acids (DHA) in our brain.

4. Reduces stress – One of the vitamins in thyme (B6) has a strong influence on neurotransmitters in the brain that are directly linked to stress hormones.
5. Elevates mood – Another powerful compound in Thyme, carvacrol, has been found to exert a positive effect on mood.
